Jul 08, 2013 · So I restored the system back a few days before the issue started, but no luck with that either. I still can't get the PS3 to obtain an IP. I can however get the PS3 to connect the the phone wirelessly (which is not preferred) so clearly there is a communication breakdown between the PC and the PS3 since the internet is working fine on the PC end.

I have tried connecting using Easy and Custom methods, I have tried resetting my router, I have restored my PS3 to factory settings, I have tried changing the channel of my router, ensuring media connection is disabled and nothing works.

Feb 27, 2009 · Assuming you are like most people your router should give out ip address to any device that is connected to it. First check the ps3. Go to setting network configurations, and check to make sure that is is set to obtain all setting automatically (ie. DHCP and DNS). Then rerun the connection test.
