When you’re on the 4G network, '4G' (otherwise known as 'LTE') will be displayed in the status bar of your screen next to the signal bars. If you have 4G switched on in your device’s network settings, it will automatically pick up the 4G signal. Where 4G isn’t available, or if the signal in your area isn’t strong enough, your device will automatically switch back to the 3G network.
